Maoist withdraws support to Oli govt

Jul 12, 2016- CPN (Maoist center) has withdrawn its support to KP Sharma Oli-led incumbent government.
Party’s headquarter meet decided to withdraw its support to Oli government.
Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal wrote a letter addressing PM Oli about the party’s decision to withdraw support to the government. Party leaders Janardan Sharma and Hitaraj Panday reached PM’s residence Baluwatar and president’s residence Sheetal Niwas with the letter. Another leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara carried the letter to Parliament Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar.
The letter states the decision to withdraw support to incumbent government was to clear the path for the formation of consensus government.
Sources said all three leaders have handed over the letters at their respective places.
The party had intensified internal as well as external parleys in recent days to push for a formation of a consensus government under the leadership of party Chairman Dahal. It had blamed the government of not abiding by the nine-point pact and the gentlemen’s agreement reached between the two parties.
Dahal, on Monday, held separate meeting with PM Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba where unity government was at the heart of discussion.
